A BIG THANK YOU to our 2023-2024 Room Parents!
As we kick off our 2024-2025 school year, we are looking for room parent volunteers in all grades.
Becoming a Room Parent is an amazing and fun way to get involved in our SoBay community. As a room parent, you will be a tremendous asset to your teacher.
Before applying, please read about the Room Parent Role:
The main role of a Somerset Academy Bay room parent is to act as a liaison between the teacher and the classroom parents. Your role is more of a volunteer coordinator rather than being the main volunteer for your class. This is an opportunity to get the families in your class involved, to ask for help, and to delegate. Please remember that the position of Room Parent is an important commitment for the entire school year.
Goal: To support the needs of the teachers, school, and ultimately the students of Somerset Academy Bay.
Responsibility:- Promoting open communication and understanding between parents and staff at Somerset Academy Bay.
- Supporting school and family social interaction.
- Provide a non-biased positive forum for sharing information on issues that impact our children.
- Keeping accurate records and being transparent with the monetary collections.
- Attending monthly PTO meetings and participating in at least one committee.
- Promote the ACT Fund and other school fundraisers.
