Room Parents

As we gear up for the 2025–2026 school year, we are excited to assist and facilitate in the search for Room Parent volunteers across all grade levels!

Becoming a Room Parent is a fun and meaningful way to get involved in the SoBay community. Room Parents are the vital link between the teacher and classroom families and play an important role in building classroom connection.

Room Parent responsibilities include:
•    This is a yearlong commitment, your continued leadership makes a difference
•    Be a paid PTO member and attend meetings/events
•    Serve as admin on the class WhatsApp chat and share updates from teachers/PTO
•    Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom community
•    Be available to answer questions and guide parents
•    Promote open communication and understanding between parents and staff
•    Timely organize collections for teacher gifting and classroom funds, with accuracy and transparency (Venmo / Zelle recommended)
•    Help plan/attend class celebrations, events, and field trips, as needed
•    Ensure all parents have an opportunity to participate in at least one event 
•    Promote the ACT Fund and other school events/fundraisers
•    Time commitment: 1–2 hrs/week (full volunteer hours credited)

In order to apply, you must be an active PTO paid member.

The form will be shared with your homeroom teacher, who will make the selection.
Each homeroom will have two Room Parents.
